I had a flight from Italy to Tunisia back in 2007 that took off with a really tighT angle, but it wasn't that scary. No one gave the pilot an applause tho.

Yes, it was at an airshow plus the angle is not actually 90 degrees. The camera perspective makes it look steeper than it is. Nothing scandalous here

It's called a vertical takeoff, they do this all the time at airshows and stuff. I think its supposed to compensate for a short runway scenario (but Boeing and Airbus just use it for spectacle).
