Man accused of trying to perform sex act with horse

Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man last week after investigators believed he was trying to have a sexual encounter with a horse in rural Edinburg.
Cirilo Castillo Jr., 45, was found lying on the ground in a horse stable with an injured leg in rural Edinburg back in February.
The owner recognized Castillo because he had been to the property a time prior. It's the same property where he was previously arrested and then charged with having sex with a horse.
Deputies then responded to the 6000 block of Alberta Road after the barn owner found him inside a horse stable.
Investigators believe Castillo snuck into the barn again and attempted to perform a sexual act with one of horses before the horse kicked him. He ended up breaking a leg.
He was then transported to a local hospital for treatment on injuries sustained in the horse stable.
Castillo told investigators he was struck by a car on the roadway and “crawled all the way to the barn for shelter,” according to a Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The 45-year-old was previously caught on camera having a sexual encounter with a horse named "India," Action 4 News reported in July 2013. He was also arrested on a similar charge in 2012.
He was taken into custody last week on a criminal trespassing warrant.
Castillo was given a $1,000 cash surety bond and was booked into the Hidalgo County Jail.
Castillo could spend 180 days in jail if convicted of criminal trespass, a Class B misdemeanor.
