1. A reunion movie isn’t happening yet.
“Collectively, we’re going to make this happen,” Kelly said when the panel started. Later on, Scott definitely agreed by saying, “I think it’s kind of time, don’cha think?” Plus, Lauren said she didn’t want to know Amy’s famous last four words unless she’s “saying or listening to someone in the show saying them.” However, “there’s nothing in the works at the moment,” Amy said, but added “nobody here hates each other; that’s a very important step. It would have to be the right everything — right format, timing, budget — it would have to be honored in a certain way. If it ever came around, I think we would all jump in and do it.”
2. Dean wasn’t always Dean.
Yes, that’s right — it may not have been Jared all along. “There was another Dean. A Canadian Dean,” Lauren remembered from the pilot.
3. Alexis was sick for her audition.
During her audition, Alexis had a cold. Amy admitted in her mind she thought, “She hates me! I love it!” So she cast her.
4. Which line is always quoted back to Lauren and Alexis?
“Oy with the poodles” was the one Lauren named, even though she doesn’t even remember the context in which she said that. As for Alexis, “copper boom!” was one of the ones mentioned. “What’s copper boom? I say it? I said so many things!” she said to the audience.
5. Edward Herrman was the first to RSVP.
“Ed was the first one to say he was going to be at this panel. That’s how f–led up it is that he’s gone,” Amy said during the panel before showing a montage of photos of the man who portrayed Richard Gilmore, and passed away in December. “It’s really crappy that he’s gone and we miss him so much. I think I speak for all of us in saying we were so surprised. I’m so grateful I got to hear him say my words. He was a drinking, loving, knew everything in the world. He was our Mr. President.” At the panel, they had an extra chair on stage for him.
6. Who was on Team Dean/Jess?
Whose side were all the guys on? Milo: “Team Dean.” while moth Matt and Jared agreed on “Team Jess.” So, Milo responded with, “Logan was a dick. However, Scott had the best answer of all: “None of you are good enough for Rory.”
7. Luke & Lorelei would ‘100 percent’ be together today.
Scott revealed that Luke has done one of two things: stayed in town or moved away and reopened the diner as a bait and tackle shop. Lauren really made the fans go crazy by asking, “Does he have a girlfriend?” His response was even better: “Lorelei is coming out for a fishing lesson.”
“For me, it didn’t end in a satisfying way,” Lauren said of Luke and Lorelei. “We weren’t sure it was the end. Amy wasn’t with us in the last season. I can’t answer it because it didn’t really end. It didn’t resolve satisfactorily. I think they’re together 100 percent.”
8. Amy has never watched the last season.
Yes really. “It was hard for me to not say cut that final time,” she said.
9. Amy is just as thankful as all of us fans are.
“If I end up a big dumb drunk in the gutter going, ‘I used to be a writer,’ at least I got this,” she said at the end, with almost the whole cast standing on stage at the Paramount Theater.
