Janet Jackson has started her own record label and in her official announcement from her official website she falsely claims she is "arguably" the first black woman to form her own label.

Despite her claims being spread all across the internet, a simple google search tells you they're not true. Recently, it can be noted that Janelle Monae formed Wondaland Society (Wondaland Records), Rihanna formed Westbury Road and Ashanti formed Written Entertainment. To go back even further Sylvia Robinson founded Sugar Hill Records in 1978, 37 years before Janet's claims.
*Beyonce and Solange both have labels as well.
A simple google search would have told Janet and her team that her claims we're not based in reality, so this is very embarrassing imo.
