Next to nothing except they are dark, poor and possibly persecuted. Educate us
Starting in 1909 and up until the mid-1970s, an entire generation of mixed-race kids were kidnapped from their Aboriginal families/mothers. A lot of them were the product of rape by white men. They're called "the Stolen Generation."
It's really sad. White settlers/the English basically came here and wiped out their entire culture.
And now Aboriginal communities have really bad problems with alcoholism, usually as an escape from the depression so many of them live with.
It's so ****ed-up/messy. And no one knows what to do or how to solve it.

No. It's because they are drinking because their parents drank, and their parents, and their parents, dating back to when we first came here and gave them alcohol. Well and truly knowing that these people couldn't cope with the effects of the drug as well as our immune systems could.
Anyway. Conditions haven't gotten better, most of the country is blatantly racist and just completely deluded to what's STILL happening to the indigenous people. You will hear casual racism against these people at least once a day.
The government are constantly displacing their communities. In the recent past, even making up lies about aboriginal Australian communities being full of pedophile rings, coincidentally these "pedophile rings" were on the lands of future mines and quarry's. They are still very much treated like animals.
I suggest anyone who is interested in educating themselves about this very sad issue watch this film called Utopia. It pretty much sums up the issue.
For those who think Canada is perfect, research residential schools. They were schools in which Aboriginal children were beaten and abused to learn English while giving up their culture.
They're the native peoples of Australia and they face a LOT of prejudice/opression/racism from the rest of Australia and have little support from non-aboriginal people and it's extremely sad and distressing

The Indian Residential Schools Truth and Reconciliation Commission just released a report and gave many recommendations to the government.

That too, but I still feel like they're deeply affected by mental health issues like depression. How could you not, after all they go through and how hard it is for them to break the cycle?
