Natalie McKee of Buckley in North Wales described the “freak accident” as her pony Skye tripped.
Amazingly the second-year Glyndŵr University student – who is studying equine science and welfare – walked away from the accident without serious injury.
Minutes later she was back in the saddle, reports the Daily Post.
Natalie said: “I was just cantering along when she just seemed to trip over her own feet and her ankles gave way and she landed on top of me.
It was quite freaky and I didn’t really know what had happened until I saw the video footage afterwards.”
Thankfully three-year-old pony Skye also escaped harm, but Natalie says the horse is a “bit sore” and also bit her tongue in the accident.
I'm glad she's alive.
