Hun it was #1 from Dec. 27th to Jan. 10th of 2009. In the US. Technically that's 2009. Not to mention the list of awards it has won and been nominated for in 2009. It didn't explode here until really late Dec.

And awards... Let's mention TWO facts: the video was released around 1 month after the 2008 VMAs, definitely impossible to be nominated that year, huh? Also, Single Ladies was nominated for the Grammy 2010. Does that mean we should consider it a 2010 song?

Why are you freaking out over what year it was released??? Going #1 is the height of a songs success. It was big before, but being #1 in the US made it a bigger song in '09.

Just nevermind, I shouldn't have to argue you on whether or not it was a big song in 2009 because anyone with ears obviously knew it was.
