Adele has reportedly signed on to record the theme for the next James Bond film,
Spectre, scheduled for release in October and November in the UK and US, respectively. This comes following numerous rumors that Adele will release a new album before the end of the year.
Quote:
She will make history by becoming the first singer to perform the title track on back-to-back 007 flicks. Adele, 27, won an Academy Award, Golden Globe and a BRIT for Skyfall which became a worldwide hit in 2012.
Other names linked to the 24th Bond film’s title track included Sam Smith, Lana Del Rey, Lorde and Faith. But according to sources close to Adele, inset, she has had approval from film company Eon Productions to sing it. It is claimed she recorded the track in Los Angeles earlier this year.
Our source said: “Adele was just one of a few artists asked to write and record the title track for Spectre.
“Sam Smith was the favourite to be picked among insiders but Adele has got the nod. It is huge pressure for her after the unbelievable success of Skyfall. To anyone else it would be a poisoned chalice but if anyone can pull it off it is Adele.
“It is a massive scoop for the film, too, as the world awaits her third hugely-delayed album.”

Although the source is questionable, Daniel Craig previously stated that he was fighting to bring back Sam Mendes as director and Adele as the theme singer, so after Mendes returned, it was rumored that Adele might be in as well. Sam Smith, who was the most rumored Bond singer, also denied involvement several times, which would make the part about him in the article true, as well.
Sounds like Adele might finally be coming back!
