TOP 50 ALBUMS PART 1!
50. LMFAO - Party Rock
Are they original? Nope
Are they incredible songwriters? Nope
The Noughties version of Mozart? Hell no
So Why are they on this list? Because I'll be damned if this album wasn't fun. They never take themselves too seriously and I like that. They know their music is brainless, they know it's just for fun. Not everything can be critically acclaimed all the time. I'll admit though, the liking of this album started out as a joke between some friends and I, joke was on us in the end I guess,
Songs To Download:
03.I Am Not A *****
02.Leaving U 4 The Groove
01.La La La
49. Mr. Hudson - Straight No Chaser
The guy that's been featured on pretty much every rap album in the last year or two finally released an album (well, he had one or two prior to becoming Kanye's protege but who's counting). The production on this is pretty flawless, a lot of these songs seem like they'd fit in right at home on the radio and a lot of those that don't are awesome as well. It almost seems like a continuation of Kanye's "808s And Heartbreaks"
Songs To Download:
03.There Will Be Tears
02.White Lies
01.Knew We Were Trouble
48. Alphabeat - The Spell
So who's tired of the 80's retread in music we've been going through? I'm not to be honest, but apparently Alphabeat were as they channeled the 90's in this album and it works amazingly well. The album is essentially a greatest hits of the sounds that were made popular in the 90's. Think Snap! meets Ace Of Base meets Amber meets Spice Girls. Anyone that even remotely liked 90's pop should give this album a shot.
Songs To Download:
03.The Spell
02.The Beat Is
01.Chess
47 - Yacht - See Mystery Lights
I think I first heard of Yacht with Psychic City back when 2009 was just a lad and I had almost forgotten about them until one day I saw they released an album so of course, being the music enthusiast that I am went out and bought it! And while it took a couple of listens to "get it" I'm glad I gave it a chance. It's quirky synth pop at its best.
Songs To Download:
03.Psychic City
02.Don't Fight The Darkness
01.We Have All We Ever Wanted
46. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca
Let's get it out of the way, I think that "Stillness Is The Move" is definitely one of my favorite songs of the year. It's amazing on all fronts so when it came to listening to the album, I was kinda hoping to get a whole bunch of SITMs, I didn't but I encountered a whole other beast and it was great. The music isn't for everyone obviously, but it is strangely addicting and it just gets better with every listen.
Songs To Download:
03.Remade Horizon
02.Two Doves
01.Stillness Is The Move

From what i've heard of Bitte Orca I greatly enjoy it. I need to listen to the rest one of these days. The Alphabeat album sounds intriguing as well.
Hey Gerry, KEEP NAILING IT.

Top 50 Albums Part 2
45. Hockey - Mind Chaos
I think the title of this album really does speak for itself. It's Mind Chaos! The album consists of 10 songs, each good in their own right only thing is they each feel completely different from one another. At the same time though, Hockey managed to make the album sound coherent. It's a little alternative with a bit of punk and a touch of pop sensibility that ultimately makes for a great package full of instantly catchy songs. I don't know how else to explain them so just try them out if you haven't.
Songs To Download:
03.3 AM Spanish
02.Song Away
01.Too Fake
44. Neko Case - Middle Cyclone
What I like most about Neko is that she seems to be such a unique artist while still maintaining a relatively normal appearence. When I say unique in this case, I specifically mean the 32 minutes of frogs she placed at the end of the album. Cool? Sure. Out of place? definitely but hey what can we do. The album itself is pretty damn awesome. I think there have been people that think the lyrics are kinda subpar, but I personally love them and her vocals are great. The production is great all around. To me that seems like the recipe for a great album and it really is.
Songs To Download:
03.This Tornado Loves You
02.Middle Cyclone
01.I'm An Animal
43. Miike Snow - Miike Snow
When you think of Bloodshy & Avant, probably the first thing that comes to mind are fact that they're essentially Britney's go-to producers. So when I heard they were releasing an album under the name of Miike Snow, I seriously expected an album full of songs like "Toxic" "Piece Of Me" or "Unusual You" so when I started listening to what sorta sounded like a more electronic sounding Vampire Weekend, I was surprised. Essentially the album is a collection that seemed to have been tailor made for the hipster crowds and to be played on Gossip Girl. It's a great album from beginning to end that I really reccomend.
Songs To Download:
03.Plastic Jungle
02.Song For No One
01.Silvia
42. Major Lazor - Guns Don't Kill People...Lazers Do
This album is without a doubt one of the most creative albums of the year, but really what else can one expect from Diplo and Switch. The album consists of 13 songs that blend together a wide variety of genres nearly effortlessly. It's the only album ,that I can think of at least, where Dancehall can coexist with Electronic influences. Ultimately this sound is what I picture Jamaican reggae to sound like in the future. Whatever the case, this is an album everyone should listen to!
Songs To Download:
03.Hold The Line
02.Can't Stop Now
01.Keep It Goin' Louder
41. Daniel Merriweather - Love & War
I know the whole soulish singers coming out of England should be really old and tired at this point, but I can't help but really really like this album. Daniel's voice along with the very old school feel of this album really makes for a great chill out album. More or less, this is along the same lines as the Duffy album from last year, a little more upbeat but essentially you're getting a modern day take on the soul albums from the 60's and 70's. I'm not complaining.
Songs To Download:
03.Chainsaw
02.Water And Flame (PS: This track features the amazing Adelle)
01.Impossible

Neko Case, the queen of all music. Well played, Gerry!
I've liked the songs i've heard from Major Lazer, and I liked Daniel Merriweather on the Mark Ronson album, so I need to check those out in full. and Hockey! I'm Canadian, so that's almost a no-brainer.
Hey, Gerry. YOU'RE KILLING IT.
