Checotah native and country music superstar Carrie Underwood became engaged to hockey player Mike Fisher on Sunday, multiple sources report.
Fisher, 29, plays for the Ottawa Senators, The Toronto Sun confirms.
He spoke about the pending vow-swap at the "morning skate," ahead of his team's game against the Boston Bruins, The Ottawa (Canada) Citizen confirms.
"It's true," Fisher said to the newspaper. "We're both obviously excited and very happy and so, exciting times for sure."
A wedding date has not been set.
The National Hockey League player confirmed to the Citizen that he popped the question to Underwood, 26, on Sunday.
