I'm not in the slightlest comparing them, lmao, hell no.
But I couldn't help but feel I was watching an epic tale of Ferngully when I saw Avatar.
In Ferngully, though it's a cartoon, an average guy from the City, gets shrunken down to a small size, fairy size. These fairys are like the Avatars in the movie. He has to fit in and go among their ways until he can go back to his original size.
The plot of the movie? These fairys have this tree they keep sacred, just like in Avatar and these machines, which is controlled by this evil monster, tries to destory their land/tree. He has to switch sides and stop it from happening.
You would have to see them both to understand, but they have their similarities. Plus this movie was from 1992. I doubt any of you were born to even know about it. I was like a kid.
And again, I'm not comparing them, the films. It just felt like the same kind of plot in a reality...
Agree?
I found the trailer for it lmaoooo, wow horrible trailer.
You wouldn't be the first to make this comparison. Several reviews for the movie make the same comparison. Kind of funny. I remember watching Ferngully when I was little but I don't remember it at all..
I'm still trying to decide if i want to see Avatar though...
^ I remember loving FernGully when I was younger, but I don't remember it AT ALL either. All I remember is a truck cutting down trees and fairies, that's about it.
I wonder if Avatar is online yet. I kind of want to see it, but I don't want to be seen in public watching it.
But you guys are nuts, Avatar is the film of the century. I am seeing it like 6 times in the theater, for sure. It's unlike any other film out there, you will change your perception on flims after seeing it. It's like a film that makes you wonder if you time traveled 100 years in the future and brought this film back and showed it in our time.
It's that epic. Gonna see it again on Sunday and maybe Monday and idk when next. I will make my Dad and fam see it on Christmas Eve
