Islamic State (IS) has released an audio message it says is from its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The voice on the audio recording is clear, assured and, in places, almost melodic. The speaker, who makes continual use of religious quotations, exhorts Muslims around the world to join forces with his group.
The speaker says: "There is no excuse for any Muslim not to migrate to the Islamic State... joining [its fight] is a duty on every Muslim. We are calling on you either to join or carry weapons [to fight] wherever you are."
He adds: "Islam was never a religion of peace. Islam is the religion of fighting. No-one should believe that the war that we are waging is the war of the Islamic State. It is the war of all Muslims, but the Islamic State is spearheading it. It is the war of Muslims against infidels."
that's really messed up. And I know people who are muslims, and they would NEVER say something like this (and they're good people contrary to popular opinion)
why is this reported?
anyways this is silly. muslims have been peaceful and islam (like all abrahamic religions) preaches violence for sure. because at the time there were so many "holy" wars. so violence had to be mentioned somehow as it was a reflection of the setting/society in those days.
anyways these ISIS guys or whatever fortunately only reflect like 1-3% of muslims. most are just normal ppl trying to live their lives as normally and peacefully as possible. work,eat,sleep,repeat.
I didn't report this but calling the whole religion violent is literally exaggerating. So since I'm muslim, it means I'm going to buy a weapon and go and help whoever this guy is & his group of murderers? Bitch I don't even have enough time for promoting my faves, sleeping & studying these days.
