Everyone held their breath this week in anticipation of what Lady Gaga would wear when meeting the Queen after the Royal Variety Performance (December 7th). There are not many people who dare to dress as outrageously as the pop princess, but now it has been suggested that she is as powerful in the designer clothing world as editor of US Vogue Anna Wintour.
Alisa Gould-Simon, writing for BlackBook, suggested that her role in the fashion world "
could very well prove more potent than anything executives at Conde Nast have drummed up".
She continued to say: "
The rate at which she’s educating consumers on avant-garde fashion … is like nothing the fashion industry has seen before."
Alisa cited figures from YouTube, which revealed that more than 30 million people had seen Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance music video in the matter of a few weeks - decidedly more than the number of people who pick up Vogue magazine each month.
