Zolciak had a "sugar daddy" whom she mysteriously referred to as "Big Poppa". In October 2008, Jezebel reported that "numerous blind items and internet rumors" had identified Big Poppa as entrepreneur Lee Najjar[2]. He funded her somewhat lavish lifestyle, buying her $14,000 in diamonds and a $60,000 Cadillac Escalade.[citation needed] Zolciak and "Big Poppa" broke up in the last episode of season one. Since the end of the first season, Zolciak has linked in media reports to billionaire Dr. Stefan Lemperle[3] and Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis.[4] However, "Big Poppa" proposed to Zolciak in 2009, which was confirmed on the October 1, 2009 episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. The day after this episode aired, on October 2, 2009, Kim stated on her Twitter that that part of the show had been filmed months ago and that she and "Big Poppa" had since broken up again.

Kim has been hard at work on a country album since early 2008 and her debut single, "Tardy For The Party" was released to iTunes on September 1, 2009. Kim has also switched from country to pop music. The song was produced by fellow Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Kandi Burruss. Kim announced she will be traveling to promote the single. The single has not charted. Her debut album is tentatively scheduled for an Early 2010 release; however, the album's release date is presently unconfirmed as Zolciak is currently recording the album. The second single "S-E-Double-X-Y" will be released in December of 2009.[citation needed]

During Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she began working on launching her own wig line, KZ's Lokz, with the help from her stylist Derek J. She partnered up with Pop Wigs USA and Dean Riskin to create her wig line.[citation needed]
