Officer Brian Moore and his partner were driving through Queens Village when they spotted the suspect “adjusting an object in his waistband” near the corner of 212th St. and 104th Road about 6:15 p.m, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said.
The officers pulled up behind the suspicious man — identified as Demetrius Blackwell, the younger cousin of former Giants cornerback Kory Blackwell — and tried to question him.
Without warning, Blackwell whipped out a gun and squeezed off at least two rounds into Moore’s car, Bratton said.
“He immediately opened fire on them before they had time to get out of the vehicle,” Bratton said at a solemn Saturday night press conference.

This is exactly what I mean when I say criminals don't give a rat’s ass about any laws. What law can you write that is going to keep someone like this from doing what he did? Strict gun laws only help the criminals.

It set another tone,in Europe we have also serial killers, school shootings etc, like in America but
Some of the comments here already If the cop had ignore him (as some of you want Cops to do it seems) the thug will most likely commit another crime with that gun.

alternatively, the amount of police brutality is what incites people to act like this. because let's be real it's a very scary and dangerous time to be a black people being questioned / detained by police officers

I doubt it has a bearing. Police officers continue to be not even ranking in the top 10 most dangerous jobs in America, and it will stay that way even after this incident.
I hope he pulls through, wishing him a speedy recovery.
