Yeah I had one put between my left molars right before I had my braces a few years ago. It was like this tiny rubber band that they just shoved between the teeth for 2 weeks. It just felt like I had a really big chunk of meat stuck in my teeth that I couldn't/shouldn't pick out, and it didn't really hurt until I ate crunchy stuff like cornflake.
