After the performance, the Quintanilla family opened up to Billboard about how it felt to be a part of such a special moment, where the idea for the tribute came from, and how they’re keeping Selena’s legacy alive.

“I loved that she incorporated three of Selena’s main looks -- the bustier, the high-waisted pant, and the ruffles,” said Suzette, giggling.

A.B. commented on just how good Lopez sounded. “When she held that last note on ‘No Me Queda Mas’ it was amazing,” he said. “The electricity was there and even though she was singing Selena’s songs, she made them her own tonight. She did a beautiful job.”

“From her heart -- this is something that she really wanted to do,” added A.B.
