The institution of marriage exists outside the bible/Christian faith. And despite conservatives hard core "America was funded on Christian principles stance"; Our forefathers: had slaves, children out of wedlock, STDs (slept around and or had mistresses), owned marijuana plantations, etc. Not to mention, rights were only granted to WHITE MEN. Our country has changed since then. Slavery ended, the industrial revolution, women's rights, civil rights, and now gay rights. these people have to understand that giving someone rights is just that, no one is taking away anything. Their religious freedom isn't being threatened! If you don't want/believe in gay marriage then don't get one. But don't interfere with someone else's life. That's the point we are trying to make. Huckabee and his type will never get this tho

.
Edit: I was born and raised in a conservative home and my relatives are all religious; so I know how these people think/feel. But I also know that not all Christians/Catholics or conservatives are like this. I have gay Christian/catholic friends, they suffer the worst when it comes to this stuff. Their own faith disowns them but some churches/church folks are LGBTQ friendly and take them in.
