"People Care Way More About Beyoncé Than They Do About the Environment"
Quote:
In case you ever doubted Beyoncé’s reign, a new study has shown that stories mentioning Queen Bey were more than eleven times more common than stories mentioning deforestation. After crunching the numbers, the Project for Improved Environmental Coverage has found that environmental stories make up less than one percent of headlines; Beyoncé alone bested six out of the ten broad environmental topics tracked in 2014. “It is hard to argue that Beyoncé warrants 92 times more mentions than deforestation on network TV news programs,” reads the press release, “given the important role forests play as our planet’s lungs and that many millions of people and species depend on them.” Take a look at the chart below showing just how significantly Beyoncé overshadowed U.S. environmental coverage. Maybe in her next single Bey should include a definition of deforestation?
Well, a fashion/popular culture magazine like Vogue is not the most reliable of sources when it comes to discussing issues related to the environment or nature in general.
That's like saying that National Geographic claims that people care more about global warming than about Gaga/Rih/Taylor/Madonna/etc..
