It won't last though. He's ruining his public image before his career is even established, and he's limiting his appeal with his over-the-top flamboyance and risque image/sound. The initial hype will be enough to sell this album, but the clock is ticking.
Sad, because it really IS a double-standard just like he says it is, but that's just the way it is. Shoving his crotch in some dude's face on national TV is not going to open anyone's mind up, it's just going to validate people's homophobic stereotypes.
^ i don't think so... he will continue doing what he wants... and sometime people wiill understand. he will be known by everyone and probably his songs are not going to be super hits.. maybe someday he will be remembered as the new prince of pop or glam rock or whatever. i love him, his voice, his style, and his album is all of it awesome, better than expected when i listened the snippets. he needs more promotion.
