They do live off taxpayer money, but at the same time death may be too swift for the heinous crimes committed. I think living without a single privilege for life is a better punishment, I don't think anyone ever really gets used to it.

That's how it is in the US anyway, I know some countries can't hold someone forever...

Death penalty is morally reprehensible to me. Growing up with European norms and values I could never support such a vile inhuman primitive act of 'serving justice'.

Civilized nations do not carry out death penalties period.

For extremely heinous crimes that have been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt... which is not an easy task, so I'm not sure how feasible that is.

Yeah, it honestly makes me mad to think about how many of these inmates are completely playing the prison system and how many privileges murderers get in there. Prison seems like such a joke.

NO. It's inhumane and barbaric. Our society is too civilized to have our ****ing government killing people for their crimes.

Besides, criminals should have to live out their sentences in prison and accept the life that they made for themselves. Dying is the easy way out.
