The kids have outgrown pop music. Pop is not hip anymore, it's deemed embarrassing in friend circles. Young listeners have shifted to New Weird America sound, which is a bootleg version of indie.
I don't know why everyone here says that Uncle, B'Day and Disease How We Do were flops. Sure they underperformed but they went Top 20 and were moderate hits.
It's not like we have a choice anymore. Albums are hardly selling anyways and especially female artists that get a lot of love (and hate) here, bomb all the way.
