Woman removed from flight after poking snoring passenger with pen

A woman was removed from a Southwest Airlines plane at Midway Airport on Thursday afternoon after she poked a seatmate with a pen to stop him from snoring, according to an airline spokeswoman.

The airline said the man was not injured in the incident aboard Flight 577. "No injuries were reported," Southwest spokeswoman Brandy King said in a statement.

The plane left soon after the passenger was removed, and Southwest said the woman “will be accommodated on a later flight."

Rightfully so. She had no right to assault the man with her pen. The pictures of the incident show she wasn't just "poking" him. She's lucky he didn't press charges against her.

Well that's really rude. She shoulda minded her own.

Maybe she should alerted the flight attendance and asked to be reseated? or had her woke up the guy?

Mixed feelings. What would you do if someone was snoring right next to you? It would annoy me for sure, and I'm sure it was just a natural reaction. But she should have been smarter, and told a flight attendant that it was a disturbance to her and shouldn't have stabbed him so hard (couldn't she just have tapped him on the shoulder?).
