After that documentary blackfish came out there has been an increase in criticism towards SeaWorld and i'm interested in knowing what are you guys opinions on the park. Do you support it or are you against it? Why?
What exactly are you referring to as "torture"? The fact that the animals are stuck in pools their whole lives or actual physical punishment?
Restricting sea animals from their natural habitat and keeping them is pools is technically torture - they don't belong there and it's definitely not good for them.
I love to go to see them but I feel for their plight - they should be out in the wild not behind glass 'cages' for us to gawk at their beauty. Does that make me a hypocrite?
Honestly? I'm neither for or against. Animal captivity is a problem outside of SeaWorld, I see people having a negative opinion on it, but what's the difference between going to SeaWorld and a zoo? There isn't one, but no one seems to really take notice. Neither are in their natural habitat and none of the animals in SeaWorld or a zoo would actually be able to survive in the wild now, after being born and bred in captivity.
What I am against is the people at he top of the hierarchy system who don't actually care about the animals. The trainers in these places actually do care, it's not fair to spite them.
