I had to look up why he took his music away from the type of music he produced in 2010, and found this new article here

Posner says he was also influenced by country singer Jake Owen, a friend who took Posner on the road with him for a few days last year and encouraged him to "tell the truth" in his songs. "I rode the bus with him, and at night he and his tour manager would take me to country school," Posner says.
This is true, as he performed on Bobby Bones last year. I found it odd seeing him here considering he was working in the LA industry

this new (music) is kind of my take on country music. It doesn't sound country and no one uses the word country to describe it, but it's me trying to do country and it comes out weird and different.
"It's just about being honest," he adds. "I listen to a lot of stuff that's out there, some of which I wrote, and I'm like, 'Where is that? Where's the honesty?' So that's what I want to get to in my music now."
This is all nice for him. I know he's been in many roles as a musician since he got buzz back in his college days, from being in mixtape days, to getting signed with Cooler Than Me taking off, then doing more behind the scenes producing with hit songs for Justin Bieber (Boyfriend) and Labrinth (Beneath Your Beautiful). I'm glad he is releasing some new music here and there still

This is incredible. So unexpected. It reminds me of 45Seconds, in how different yet still commercial it is. Would love to hear more songs like this on the radio.
