"Today, women make up half of the U.S. workforce, but the average working woman earns only 77 percent of what the average working man makes. But unless women and men both say this is unacceptable, things will not change."

She has been literally pushing the Feminist stance since the beginning of her career & its about time, the world recognized her efforts!

I can't believe the subject of equal pay is still being debated in the year 2015. Wtf, what is the logic to paying women less?

But no really, I'm glad the work she's been doing is being recognized and helping.

It's not that most companies are setting a "male pay" and a "female pay." It's that women are less likely to aggressively negotiate salary and ask for pay raises. Therefore they tend to earn less.

It's a really interesting topic. I had to review and present an article on the behavioural differences between men and women in the workplace. Men are alot more tactical, goal-oriented and effective communicators whereas women prioritise a harmonious working environment over position/ power. Of course this isnt the case for every single man/ woman but a number of anthropology researches were referenced.

I don't think that is true at all. At least from my experience it is not, for an equal work, with an equal diploma with a woman being more invested in her work, men tend to get payed more. Going by that logic, women don't get promoted as much as men because they are not aggressive.

Um except almost everyone agrees that is true. Sheryl Sandberg wrote a bestselling book to teach women how to be more aggressive in negotiating higher pay and promotions.
