"A remake of the 1999 romantic comedy She’s All That is on the way, according to a story today at The Tracking Board (via TheWrap). The Weinstein Company and Miramax are reportedly developing a new version that has Kenny Leon attached to direct.
The original film, directed by Robert Iscove and scripted by R. Lee Fleming Jr., starred Freddie Prinze Jr. as a popular high school student, who, in a contemporary take on My Fair Lady, bets his friends that he can, over the course of six weeks, transform an unpopular wallflower (Rachael Leigh Cook) into the prom queen.
The original She’s All That grossed more than $100 million worldwide and featured a supporting cast that included Anna Paquin, Paul Walker and Matthew Lillard. She’s All That was also the first feature film to pair Lillard and Prinze, who would go on to work together four more times over the following five years."
Oh, also there are movies remade that aren't even this old. There's no "rule" or something.
This is a movie for Teenagers. When it is released in a year or two it will target Teenagers and not the 30 year-olds who saw the Prince Jr.-one in 1999.
