Beyonce is not what I consider a "performer", she's more a singer who happens to dance. A performer is more dancer than singer...

For me to consider a artist a performer they have to be able to do or display intricate dances and have a limited vocal range. Beyonce to me doesn't fit in either categories, though its obvious she can dance the moves she does are never complicated. And her vocal range in anything but limited. Janet has a limited vocal range but in my opinion she is the best vocalist in the "performer" group.

I've always loved this song. It's gorgeous.

Janet's dancing > Janet's singing

That is the difference, take it or leave it.

This song really picks up after 3:00 BTW. I think her vocals before that are bad but after they're good.

Vocal power =/= vocal excellence.

Performing isnt just dancing....Its putting on an ENTIRE show... Hence the word performance.
