Whilst writing my album I decided to take a break for a week in the studio and messed around with a bunch of awesome tracks I found looking through soundcloud. It’s not normally the type of music I would write or sing over, but I’ve always loved this genre and just felt like I wanted to experiment with it. The name Allelopathy is a word used to describe a specific type of organism that influences the growth, survival, and reproduction of other organisms. I thought this was pretty cool seeing as that is what I aim to do when making music, I want it to have an effect on people, and for them to feel something when listening to my songs. It also made a lot of sense as the Laurel plant is an allopathic plant - Prunus Laurocerasus. Each track was named after a different plant including the first one I wrote for the mixtape originally by Yung Gud named after the English Laurel.
