I don't get how artists can write so many songs. Carly Rae Jepsen wrote like +300 for her upcoming studio project, Beyonce did the same, Gaga wrote a bunch too for ARTPOP I think

it doesn't seem like a good practice imo.
I guess they know what works for them but eventually I feel like it'd just ruin the quality of the song trying to squeeze out another one. I write songs and although I don't have a hit, I like taking my time on individual tracks to make them as complete as possible. I'd rather have 10 strong songs than +100 weak ones.
But I guess quantity over quality works better since you have more options incase the label doesn't like those 10 songs. Maybe I'll try doing what they do and see how it works for me. I can do it but man that's a lot of songs!
