Jeremy Clarkson dropped by BBC
Quote:
Jeremy Clarkson's contract will not be renewed after an "unprovoked physical attack" on a Top Gear producer
Tony Hall said he had "not taken this decision lightly" and recognised it would "divide opinion".
However, he added "a line has been crossed" and he "cannot condone what has happened on this occasion".
Clarkson was suspended on 10 March
, following what was called a "fracas" with Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon.
An internal investigation began last week, led by Ken MacQuarrie, the director of BBC Scotland.
It found that Mr Tymon took himself to hospital after he was subject to an "unprovoked physical and verbal attack".
"
During the physical attack Oisin Tymon was struck, resulting in swelling and bleeding to his lip
.
The verbal abuse was sustained over a longer period, both at the time of the physical attack and subsequently
."
The verbal abuse "contained the strongest expletives and threats to sack" Mr Tymon, who believed he had lost his job.
The "
physical attack lasted around 30 seconds and was halted by the intervention of a witness
," he added.

Oop.
I am not mad. I bet ITV will pick him up for something. I doubt he would have the same success though.

He might be a jackass but he was the reason I'd started watching Top Gear in the first place.

Chris Evans is the only one that has the personality to replace him, and he's already adamantly refused the offer.
BBC won't cut the show because the ratings are still too good and they'll try to rescue it but they should leave on a high.

Good, he's a stupid ****.
I don't care how much money he makes the BBC, he should be held to similar standards as other public sector workers.

HeHe
He once "dragged" the Volkswagen Phaeton, I will never forget - I bet it will take just a little time 'till he can visit Joan Rivers.

Good riddance, the public supporting him are disgusting, in any job if you get physical you should be fired. The **** he pulled before then should have lost him his job.

If you punched someone, then you deserve to get fired.
He's an entertaining douche, but I don't feel sorry for him.

I saw "Clarkson" and "Dropped" I panicked so quickly that I neglected to check the first name.
But he deserves to be cut loose from attacking someone.
