It has been reported that the Scottish singer is set to release the highly anticipated follow-up to ‘Our Version of Events’ later this year, but not until she has bagged herself new management.
The Sun has reported that Emeli is currently eyeing up Jay Z’s Roc Nation, and after the sheer success of her debut album, Jay Z would be silly to say no. Jay Z’s Roc Nation is becoming more and more popular these days with the likes of Kylie Minogue signing to the label recently. Jay Z also manages the careers of the likes of Rihanna, Rita Ora, and Kanye West.
An insider said: “Adrian [Sykes, Emeli’s manager] and Emeli were very close but she decided that it was time for a change. It was a big step to take but she’s been talking to big-name managers used to handling huge names.Her second album is due later this year and it’s bound to sell a lot. Any manager will take a cut of the profits from her record sales and tours, so it’s no surprise a few people are interested. But so far Jay Z and his team are top of the list. Any deal is expected to be done later this month”.
