We don't have to take our clothes off: Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has criticised the current tide of scantily-clad female singers, blaming it on the industry's 'older men'
Cheryl also admitted to being asked to do things that made her feel uncomfortable during her career, explaining: 'Girls Aloud wore some short skirts and some outfits that were quite sexy, but we were singing 'I’m just a love machine’ and 'Something kinda ooh, jumping on my tutu’.
'It was fun, it was quirky, it wasn’t trying to be sexual. I would never do something I didn’t want to do, or get told that’s the 'lane’ to be in at the moment. The lane. Everyone is competing in the same lane. F***k off, I’d rather be in my own lane.'
Men saying things like this is one thing but when women say it... it's just so disappointing. I don't think any of the popstars that do it are being forced. Why does she see it as a competition instead of celebrating women taking control of and expressing their sexuality how they see fit?
I agree with what she is saying but pls, the pictures of her are pretty much the definition of oversexualized. You can look sexy and majestic without doing all this naughty and nasty things.
