The boys over at Cinema Blend are reporting that the Weinstein Company is planning on rebooting the Scary Movie franchise. They claim that the Weinsteins are still planning on making Scary Movie 5, which would be released after Scream 4 hits theaters, for obvious reasons. I guess the idea would be to start it over again without the Wayans brothers and regular star Anna Faris? I guess this makes sense for the Weinsteins as the Scary Movie franchise is one of their most profitable. People like fart jokes I guess?
i wish the Wayans bros would have stayed with the series. it's not the same without them.
anyway...****, SON!! hopefully this won't be craaaaaap like the previous 2 were. the 2nd movie was my fave, btw. the caretaker ****in' the turkey "HIAWATHA!!!"
If they can't get Anna Farris or Regina Hall, then they might as well not bother writing a script. They made the franchise what it is. I'd also be a bit afraid that the fifth film would resemble the latest spoof films, which all are either average, sub par, or horrible. The last really good one I've seen was Epic Movie. Superhero Movie and Disaster Movie had their moments, but they were just average. Meet the Spartans and The Onion Movie sucked horribly.
hopefully it'll make up for the shitfest that was SM 4
