Both Christina Aguilera and Carrie Underwood have been described as the "voice of a generation," but who is more deserving of the title?

S/N: Christina debuted well before Carrie, but there is only a two year age gap between them, so they are of the same generation.

Carrie Underwood chose to announce the sex of her baby, due this spring, with a pretty funny bit on the CMAs. After whispering the gender to a beaming Brad Paisley, her co-host quipped, "I know something you don't know... Suck it, TMZ!" But Paisley then "accidentally" referred to Baby Fisher as "him." ("Hashtag, Brad blew it.") Underwood also made the TV debut of her new single, "Something in the Water," taking fans to church with a little "Amazing Grace" thrown into the tune and proving with her flawless delivery that she's the female vocalist of her generation... of any genre.

She's even received 2 special awards, one from People's Choice Awards and one from the biggest Latin awards show, for being the voice of her generation, as well as her inclusion in Rolling Stone's 100 best voices of all time list. And I say that as a fan of Carrie. Carrie is an AMAZING vocalist in her own right, but the GP has already handed the title to Christina.

Christina does amazingly singing pop music, and Carrie does amazingly singing country music. Christina also has more vocal training than Carrie which leads Christina to having better control, pitch and rhythm of her voice whereas that's something Carrie struggles with.

Also doesn't Carrie sing more with her head voice rather than her chest?

Technically, I'd say Christina is a better vocalist but I mean.. there's really nobody like her she's the only one in her tier. I don't think it's bad that Carrie is among the second tier of vocalists along side Kelly, Beyonce and Whitney Houston.

I love Christina, but don't act like she's the only one who wins awards for her voice. Carrie's won six out of her seven Grammy's for her vocal performance.
