What would the world be like?

For those that don't know, Britain once 'ruled' many countries around the world including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India (which is now India and Pakistan), many African countries, Caribbean countries and some more.

Whilst some chose to remain a part of the 'Empire' many of them left/were given independence such as India who was split into two countries (Pakistan and India)...and then further split after war to form Bangladesh.

But if the Empire was still as it was back then, would the world be drastically different?

No one's still in the British empire, just in the commonwealth

As for what it would be like, that's really hard to say. I imagine more progressive attitudes would lead to each member of the empire gaining more and more independence (or at least a greater say in things). Then again, I suppose it's possible Britain would have tightened it's grip on the empire to avoid threat from the new superpowers USA and Russia (I'm assuming that to have been able to keep it's empire Britain had remained a superpower rather than downgrading to a great power)

I'm glad Canada is still loyalist.

I mean the Nazis were the worst, but The British Empire wasn't much better.

Also all the Kings in history they called by us "The Great", were also mass killers, f u ck all Empires, behead all ceatures who call themself Kings, Queens, Sheiks etc. (the French did it right, first Marie Antoinette then Lady Di), God didn't coronate them, that's blasphemous.

Nnnn the Spanish Empire was a freaking mess too. British, French, Dutch, Portuguese, German, Belgian, Italian, Danish, Swedish.....all these Western countries just exploited the natives in their colonies or did bad stuff there it really doesn't matter who colonizes you

Yeah, the Spanish Empire treated the indigenous absolutely terribly and saw the New World as their playground/treasure chest. And let's not forget the Japanese, they were equally as atrocious.

All these empires have the Romans to blame

Things like homophobia and racism would not exist or be very minor in some places. The US would not exist. Europe would be a backwater, Asia would be the wealthiest continent and Africa would not be in as deep of a mess it is in now.

In a way the world be be a much better place. But be worse off in other ways.

Thank goodness it fell.
