Iggy was offered an Empire guest role but plans fell through

We are also told that producers reached out to Iggy Azalea and tried to make a guest spot work, but the scheduling wouldn't allow it. Fox doesn't comment on casting rumors.
Hopefully there's an Iggy-esque character in a future story arc and they deal with racial issues like white artists capitalising on black culture and white privilege.

What? The show is inspired by the real-life hip-hop industry, and forgive me if I'm wrong, but Iggy Azalea's success (and the reasons for it) has been one of the most compelling conversations within the industry over the course of the past year.
God forbid the show writers get inspired by that...?

I never said Lucius/Empire had to be the one to sign the character. A competing label could create a white hip-hop artist who steals the sound/style of a black artist at Empire. Suddenly there's a national conversation about race and hip-hop.
There's lots of ways to write it into the show. Doesn't have to be Lucius/Empire signing her though.
