I guessed from the beginning she was fodder for establishing Penguin as a villain. It just makes story telling sense to have Penguin kill her off.

I don't see 'Gotham' lasting too much longer, but her character was a stand-out albeit a bit over-dramatic at times. You will be missed.

This is definitely wrong, the series will suffer from this. I don't see it having a third season.
I bet they're only killing her off because her character was literally overshadowing Bruce, Cat, James and even Penguin
