ATRL, what are your thoughts on the population of the human race?

As of now, there are approximately 7.2 billion people on this planet.

I was thinking about this yesterday, but when you really think about it - it's humans that make this Earth a terrible place to live. We have no one but ourselves to blame for the destruction and heartache going on in the world.

Imagine if the world had 1 billion people on it INSTEAD of 7 billion, I think it'd honestly make a huge difference at max we should have like 3, MAYBE 4 billion people, but for us to have 7

What do you think? Can the Earth handle so many humans on it?

I do think it is overpopulated. It would be lower if there was no poverty, but that's not how it is.

We need our own Hunger Games.

Yes, but don't worry, I'm moving to Mars to help the Earth's population.

Of course it's overpopulated. At this point people should not be having more than two children imo, it's a little selfish to have a lot of children when doing so contributes to this global problem.

Not overpopulated just too many bad people in the world and too many in poverty.

yes and no. The world is growing too quickly but there are enough resources on the earth to feed everyone that lives here.

Yes we are, we use all the natural sources that earth would have given us in a year in 6 months time. That's when you know you doing it wrong.
It's like the banking system, when you borrow a lot and get involved in shady business it will all collaps sooner or later.

Yes. It's mean to say, but it's the truth.

People need to stop having children

Overpopulation is a myth. The entire world population could actually fit in any US state. Unequal distribution of resources is what makes this world a terrible place. More than half of wealth in the world is actually owned only by 1% of the world's population.

Not as such. The main issue is that we're not living in a sustainable way.

7.2 billion people in one state? Bye

And how is it a Myth when we are struggle to support these 7.2 billion people today... it's just too many people as well as the 1% being greedy with their wealth.

Less people and more distribution would be an ideal situation.

Yes they can. It's a real thing. You should seriously look it up if you have doubts.


And the earth will depopulate.

The population of first world countries are slowing down and some decreasing because of industrialization. When the other developing countries become post industrial countries the whole world will soon have a drop. Women getting into work means less children. People becoming more educated also means less children.

No I was gonna leave a note specifically saying we should slow down with the babies and hope through old age it eventually decreases to that number.
