It was a rat pack theme party.
What did the stars get up to at Cowell's party?
06 Oct 2009
Billed as the showbiz event of the year, the guest list for Simon Cowell's 50th birthday party read like a who's who of the celebrity world.
Gordon Ramsay, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, David Hasselhoff and X Factor judges Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole were among those who turned up.
Inside the event at Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire the famous faces were treated to performances by talent show winners Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke as well as music legends Earth Wind And Fire.
But Louis Walsh claims "Westlife stole the show". The music mogul may be biased though. He currently manages the Irish group.
There were also images of the birthday boy decorating the venue, even on the wallpaper.
While Alexandra Burke admits she had a hangover after the million pound bash, Gordon Ramsay and Dermot O'Leary said they were "still recovering" nearly two days later.
Simon however seems to be in some denial about turning the big 5-0.
He joked: "40 is a big year".
He added: "It was one of the best nights I've ever had. It was excessive, over the top, great fun. It was everything I wanted a party to be."

Cowell sees stars for his 50th...
03 Oct 2009
X Factor judges Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell jetted back yesterday from holiday breaks in America for Simon's 50th birthday party tonight. The big bash is being held for the high-waisted one in the exclusive Wrotham House in Hertfordshire, England, which was used in the movie Gosford Park.
Louis was holidaying in his Miami apartment, while Simon was holed up in the penthouse of the Setai Hotel, also in Miami. Acts performing at the party will include Westlife, making their first live appearance in some time, Leona Lewis and Il Divo.
And the guest list is a veritable who's who of models, actors, socialites and singers. It includes Elton John and David Furnish, Kylie Minogue, Kate Moss and Kevin Spacey, as well of course as Simon's X Factor pals Louis, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue. It's all being organised by Simon's multimillionaire businessman pal Philip Green of Topshop fame.
