For 12 years the 1997 film Titanic broke numerous records, had a huge theme song, and became the highest grossing film ever. That is until 2009 and Avatar took its place. While yes a sequel is getting made and will be featured in Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom many feel that the movie doesn't deserve to be at #1 mostly because it hasn't stood the test of time yet like how Titanic has. I saw it(Avatar) in theaters when it came out and have the DVD and really only watched it once. But if you were to compare the two movies do you think Avatar deserved to replace Titanic?

Avatar was just visual candy. Titanic was deep, emotional, extremely well done, and most importantly, handled the fact that it was a real tragedy really well.
