Which do you feel is more prestigious: an Emmy (Primetime or Daytime) or a Golden Globe?
The Emmys are part of the EGOT set, of course, but the Golden Globes take place alongside other major awards shows (Oscars and Grammys) and generally receive more media attention, as well as higher ratings.
The Golden Globes' inclusion of movies make the show's audience more expansive, but it can also be argued that it weakens its prestige by covering multiple fields.
The various Emmy award shows are presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) and the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS). The Golden Globes is presented by members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).
