Guess that pretty much sums it up, idk tho, I still miss those eras from not long ago which were carried out exactly as planned even though the singles or the albums underperformed..Like there was some standard way of carrying out an era - you put a first single out and announce the album at the same time then you do shitloads of promo
at the time of single release and then let the era take it from there. 4 optons for the album: flop, moderate succes, hit or scrapped based on the performance of the first single alone. Each subsequent single also received sufficient promotion. Now we have 3 to 4 singles prior to the album release which are promoted for a week during album release and then no other singles and the album is left to die.
