Adele could be headlining Glastonbury if organiser Michael Eavis gets his way

It looks like Adele will be Rolling In The Deep at Glastonbury – if festival boss Michael Eavis can get his way.

Worthy Farm is in talks to get the singer to headline Saturday night at the well-loved mud fest.

But the Eavis clan have a tough fight on their hands as 26-year-old Adele has previously said she “will not do festivals”.

Our Glasto source says: “Most of the acts have been booked for Glasto but Michael and daughter Emily Eavis are still trying to get Adele for Saturday night.

“She has been on their wishlist for a few years now. Negotiations are ongoing but this is the closest they have got to signing her.

“Several bands that have been booked for Saturday have been told they could be performing before her. It’s created quite a buzz.”

The source added: “Emily and Michael know what a big deal this would be and they are determined to make it happen.”

A festival spokesman declined to comment on the story, but added: “We look forward to announcing the line-up in the late spring.”

The last time she performed a 90-minute set was in September 2011, in Glasgow.

Glastonbury runs from June 24-28.

Makes sense - her songs and aesthetic translate much better in a smaller hall with great acoustics.

It'd be great if she did this but I can totally understand her turning it down.

They say this every year.

But it would be amazing to see her do it. I know she doesn't think her music fits but she's so loved that I don't think people would care.

Adele headlining a festival would be big news, she'd sell those tickets fast tbh.

I dont think she will do it.

I imagine people would go because they love Adele, but I can't imagine a crowd full of drunken people having a fun time would want to stand and listen to ballads for however long she'll be on stage for. I'd be here for it to listen to a few songs but at a big festival standing listening to ballads, I just can't see that being successful.

I'd gladly be proven wrong though 'cause I love me some Adele.

Rolling in the Deep, Set Fire to the Rain, Rumour Has It, I'll Be Waiting, etc are all festival friendly. Someone Like You is a sing along moment. Also you can rearrange some of the other songs to make it work more in that environment.

Not to mention the new album could have more upbeat songs.
