Britney Spears as most of you have read will be releasing her Singles Collection to stores on Nov. 24th in celebration of her 10 year career in the music industry.

This has already been confirmed by MTV.com, but now we have an official confirmation from Lady Gaga's record label Cherrytree Records: the re-release of her debut album The Fame called The Fame Monster will be released on November 24th, 2009.

This should be an interesting day of releases. Lets see if any others wanna join the release date.

I think that Brit will sell at least 3 or 4 times more than GaGa.

This, I mean Lady Gaga is doing a re-release with quite a bit of new tracks for The Fame Monster. Britney may have just 1 or 2 new tracks on the Singles Collection.

GaGa been around for 1 year.

Britney Spears sold over 88 million records worldwide in 10 years + 5 US #1 Albums.
GaGa sold over 4 million albums and 20 million singles worldwide in 1 year.

Britney Spears has a massive global fanbase.
GaGa has a huge global fanbase.

There is no competition. Britney is stronger on every level. I love GaGa, she is my fave Artist, but any person with common sense can see Britney has the biggest chance of doing better, of course she will, she's been around 9x longer.

It'll be interesting to see if GaGa does pull it out the bag, but I highly doubt it. She WILL go Top 3 though.

I think GaGa will probably sell more because she's going to re-release her album with some new songs and The Fame has been huge this year.

Britney is releasing a Singles Collection with 1 new song and these days Greatest Hits/Compilations/Best Of... don't sell that much. Greatest Hits: My Prerogative debuted at #4 in the US in 2004. I hope this "Singles Collection" can debut at least top 5.

Negative. She may be having more consistent hits, but doesn't make her more popular. She is still, OBVIOUSLY, bigger than Gaga. This is a Singles Collection. Her fans are going to buy this like crazy. Even if it were a brand new album, Britney would still have the higher sales. You never make any sense though so IDK why I'm speaking to you.

GaGa is releasing multiple new songs while Britney is releasing one... Also, many people don't care about the longevity of the artist. Whatever it is, it will be close. GaGa has only just started and she is breaking records and smashing in the music industry. It will be interesting to see what goes down.

So what??? Britney is still the bigger artist/name. This is a collections album that all of her die hard fans will be purchasing. You say it doesn't matter about their longevity, but the amount of new songs does? Like I said, Britney will win by FAR. If it were a new studio album you stans would be quiet.

yes, her DIE HARD fans will buy the album, but ALL of GaGa's fans are going to buy Monster. And 98% of the song are old songs from Britney on this new album. Honestly, yes it is likely that she will hit #1, but I wouldn't be surprised if GaGa came close.
