The Five Nominers for Best Original Score are:

- The Imitation Game by Alexadre Desplat

- The Grand Budapest Hotel by Alexandre Desplat(slays)

- The Theory of Everything by Johann Johansson

- Interstellar by Hans Zimmer(slays)

- Mr Turner by Gary Yershon


The best 2 of the bunch are Alexandre's Budapest Hotel & Zimmer's Interstellar. However this category is always very Best Picture oriented if there isn't some sort of Animated feature in here(wich is the case).
Many critics clasify Interstellar as truly outstanding but probably hurt by the early problems of sound the movie had in some formats(ironically the Movie's nominated for Best Sound Editing & Best Sound Mixing so probably the academy didn't care nearly as much)

And The Grand Budapest Hotel's amazing tones are enhanced by Desplat's "quirky" and unorthodox score.

However, Johann has been collecting a couple of important awards at the GG & the CCAs so he's the front runner although if Grand Budapest is headed to sweep the Tech categories this one might jump in their bag OR it might split votes with Theory from the traditional pack and Interstellar could crawl in.

Should Win: Interstellar
Snubbed: Under the Skin & Guardians of The Galaxy(this one didn't fully qualified, but i had to say it)

Hans Zimmer should have won like the last 10 years straight but that's ok.

Interstellar's music was so good. Out of this world, galaxy, space and time

The thing is i'd love to see THIS Hans Score take it, but then John Williams was nominated like 40-something times and only won like 1 or 2, that didn't stop him from producing some of the biggest and most iconic scores EVER.

I'd love for Desplat's score to win although having 2 noms and BOTH fron Best Pic nominees doesn't help his case, he's been constantly nominated in the last decade, it's time.

Hans Zimmer should win.

That's my prediction and also most people's one as well, if there's a upset it will be Budapest because the might get a lot of love in the tech categories....

Oh Interstellar should definitely be sweeping but Theory is very likely to win. That or Imitation. The category has very much become an "oh, I liked that movie, let's give it a consolation win (or to the film that is winning)." It occasionally has its moments though.
