Okay so I know every artist gets their share of hate on ATRL and this is by no means any sort of pity party. However, I'm just trying to wrap my head around what it is about Beyoncé's continuous success that genuinely bothers people so much that they have to go out of their way to downplay her accomplishments [mostly ones that exceed those of certain other artists].
"Yeah, she has 20 Grammys but most of them are R&B + her father bought them so they don't count"
"Yeah, her album was successful but it was frontloaded so not really"
"Yeah, she's a great performer but all she does is shake her ass"
"Yeah, she's very relevant and popular 17 years into her career but that's only bc she's a celebrity now like Kim Kardashian"
"Yeah, she has a Pepsi deal but she's promoting obesity"
"Yeah, she tried to raise awareness about current racial issues in America, but Ledisi should have sang because Beyoncé has no soul"
It seems there is always a negative reason for anything good she accomplishes and it happens with her ONLY.
What is it? Anger? Jealousy? Other? As a fan, I would like to know.
Because Beyoncé is the standard. Her legacy is from infinity to beyond which brings bitterness and anger. Not to mention she's black too, so that brings in disgusting racist comments.
They'll say anything to downplay her success in order to bring her down to their own fave's level. She's already a legend so I guess that bothers some.
This type of shade/trolling is something that happens only with Bey and I just want to know why EVERYTHING she does has a negative reason behind it
To be fair, Gaga has it worse here since I joined.
And the Hive has been from what I've seen the last few months the most despised stanbase here and on internet in general. That's why Beyoncé has it so hard IMO.
I see, guys, what y'all are trying to do. Unfortunately, we'll never forget about how confident you were as far as Beyonce's AOTY win was concerned, and what a shock it was for you, when she did tragically lose the award to an unknown musician.
Grammys 2015 weren't her success no matter what you're trying to say. She lost in two important categories.
Because no matter her sales, wins, #1s, or whatever, she is still considered the best at what she does.
I can never imagine stanning for someone with sub-par talents, but if I did I could see why someone excelling at the same craft would be bothersome and make me feel insecure.

Hun, majority of us are already over the AOTY loss and I'm feeling like most of you care more than we do. My last Grammy related post BEFORE the show was "It's funny how everyone thinks Sam will be the one to take the award from Bey when it very well might be Beck"
What constitutes an "important category" and does that change the fact that Bey has more than most of her peers?

This is off topic. What does this have to do with why people like to rag on Beyoncé other than it has to do with your dislike for Beyoncé?
