Casting for “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” has begun. The producers are reportedly looking for all the lead and supporting roles to be filled in London and New York, the filming locations for the movie. The shooting is scheduled to begin in August 2015.
The only confirmed character in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is that of the 23-year-old protagonist Newton Scamander. The casting announcement was made on ActingAuditions website. Only the London office appears to be accepting resumes at this time, but the addresses of both the UK office and the U.S. office have been given.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” will reportedly begin in New York City, around the 1920s time period. This is around 70 years before the events of the “Harry Potter” movies. Some of the fan favourite characters such as Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley may not feature in the movie, owing to the time difference.
