Basically I cut all the gross fast foods (although I occasionally eat pizza) and started going to the gym at least 4 times a week and following a muscle-building plan built by someone who is actually experienced (just check the homophobic but smart bodybuilding.com website, there's tons of stuff there).
One of the best things that works is what it's called the keto diet, where you basically minimize the intake of carbohydrates as much as possible (grains, breads, pasta, cakes, chocolate, chips, etc. etc.). You lose weight like CRAZY, it's amazing. Although it's hard to transition at first from high carb to 0 carb, it can be done!
The only thing is that I'm in college right now and it's SO hard to eat healthy
