With such problematic songs such as "Ur So Gay" that feature highly offensive lyrics promoting gay stereotypes and the obvious appropriation of lesbians in "I Kissed A Girl" why is Katy celebrated and acclaimed as a gay icon?
She hasn't done anything for the LGBT community apart from promote stereotypes gays have to suffer through?
She openly called out the Australian prime minister on radio for not supporting gay marriage and said that he wouldn't be getting her vote (if she could vote in it).
Firework can be deemed a gay anthem.
Her music in general is very gay friendly, and she knows that. She also knows she has lots of gay fans.
I for one, used to be ignorant when it came to racism, sexism and systematic injustice but I've grown and I'm much more educated than I used to be. Who's to say Katy hasn't done the same?
I'm not gay so I don't really get a say on this one. Although, as someone previously said above me: who is to say she hasn't improved as a person though 2 of her songs were a tad offensive?
You stan for a person who used Nazi imagery to sell her flopping single and you're trying to drag anyone? Girl.....
Girl sit.
And no, Katy is not a homophobe. Ur So Gay is an AMAZING song and was just meant to be humorous. Only an insecure individual would have been offended by it.
